Nations with more barriers to fire arms have lesser crime rates as compared to the US or even more extreme Afghanistan and much of the Middle East and Africa where gaining access is very much like the US.   And I have sources. So that is just pro gun right rhetoric.  Just say you like guns. Don't lie or make up stuff because that just makes your cause look stupider and misleading.  And your mumbo jumbo about knives vs fire arms. Go to a modern battle field or even slightly older US Civil War battle field.  Then visit some old battle fields of either Rome, Greece, or Mid-Evil Europe. The numbers don't compare.  Swords killed usually a few hundred to a few thousand. Fire arm battles easily killed tens to hundreds of thousands.
