Thank you. Apparently MDs and other medical experts and staff are no different than experts and staff in my field, software engineering, in that they more often follow some assumed to be state of the art instead of thinking themselves, even if obviously malinformed. Not blaming, but as patients it means we should perhaps question more often their decisions if we feel it's odd, or at least to ask for specific justification.

Didn't you get the memo? There is no natural immunity from Covid. Letting it rip will not make it endemic, but prolong the pandemic. Correlation is not causation. The more likely reason for previously infected people having a lower probability of being reinfected in this study is that they are more cautious not to get infected again. This is not an effect of, let alone proof of natural immunity. The authors expressly caution for this very problem "although we controlled for age, sex, and region of residence, our results might be affected by differences between the groups in terms of health behaviors (such as social distancing and mask wearing), a possible confounder that was not assessed." Due to his limitation the study is wrong in concluding the observed data as an effect of natural immunity. It is also unlikely that the conclusion is valid because it contradicts many studies that have shown that there is indeed less and faster waning immunity from infection than there is from vaccination. Dr Campbell is doing the community a disservice by selectively promoting ideas that match his view. Note how he does not take any risks himself and avoids getting infected. That of course is the best advice.

Ok you are now openly spreading disinformation. I personally know several people who catched Omicron twice, within just a matter of a months. This is a common occurrence, not unlikely at all. The study you cite is wrought with methodological problems and its conclusions won't stand.

Please report back should you catch it again (hope not!)

@Lily-Bravo I think it's not very smart to infect people when there is plenty of ways to avoid it.

@Lily-Bravo no I am not. What I'm saying is that the political decision to end all protective measures to stop infections including masks, work from home etc. is the opposite of a smart public health strategy. Btw I am vaccinated.

It's all very nicely presented. Except it's not true. There is clear evidence that there is no significant immunity from covid. Saying that you are protected from infection, to any degree, with a neurotropic and multi-system inflammatory causing virus is just plainly misleading people. Why he is doing this eludes me but clearly he is not taking any risks himself. Duh

Natural immunity lol. If that were the case SA would not have had a Omicron wave in the first place. Omicron is immuno evasive. It escapes immunity! What's worse, there is no immunity from an infection by Omicron. All evidence clearly shows as much. In contrary the community spreading will create new more dangerous variants. The risk of riding your bicycle is not at all comparable to the risks you have when being infected with Omicron. Meanwhile excess death in SA and DK are rising. Omicron is not mild, it kills slowly. Have fun

@lepidoptera9337 thanks. That's my very point
