Not only is the "global mean temperature anomaly" based on averaging the deviation from long-term temperature averages, even worse it is based on a point calculation vv. the arbitrarily chosen "optimum" in 1950. That is NOT how anomaly should be calculated, especially not if what you are trying to find out is long-term anomalies. The whole thing is bogus from start to finish.

  6. Essentially an LLM memorizes patterns of word parts (~tokens) and relations of words. When generating responses it queries the pattern by the context you give it, one word at a time. Mathematically it learns P(x|y) and predicts P(y|x) where x is the context and y is the next word predicted, and y is added to x for every subsequent word.

  7. Personally I don't think it makes any difference whether Dr. Peterson is licensed as a clinical psychologist or not. Either way does not in anyway change my high regards for his leadership. Btw I don't agree with all his views and positions.

  8. There was no overraction to the c19 pandemic. If there were the virus would have been eliminated. There has been amazingly incompetent management and communication by governments, ongoing still today, along with a strikingly ignorant dismissal of any and all scientific discovery by large parts of society, including some academics. In a rather crazy change of the priority of health, now people are actively seeking infection to "train" their immune system, which of course is just a recipee for disaster.
