Especially, the comment about VIP tables, "If they don't want to, I will take one" 😂 If that doesn't work, "Oh my husband is a foreigner". That actually works 99% of the time, even now 👍🏼 The only thing I disagree with you Sam, about modern Russia, is some of the infrastructure. Municipal and secondary roads in Provincial Saratov and many places outside of Pitr and Moscow are in rough shape. Sidewalks can be horrific off the main streets. They flood over in Spring, and then freeze. Drainage and sewer systems are poor. I'm from Canada, climate is comparable, we don't have such problems. Accessibility for the handicapped ♿️ is a challenge as well. All of these things are improving greatly, but there's much more to be done. It does lend to a certain charm, though 🙂 Everything else you say about modern Russia is true... and in general, the women take pride in their appearance ❤

  9. Lol, too funny, wee laddy! You're words were the same as I spoke in 2007 when I went to live in my wife's Russian city, Saratov. Not to be a naysayer, but I guarantee you'll be back in Scotland with your family within 5 years. Right now you're high on the experience. It ain't gonna last. Russia is an amazing place to Visit... but Canada is always home for not only me, but my Russian wife 🇨🇦❤️
