@dinglshingle Poor comparison. A sizeable number of Taiwanese actually want reunification with motherland. The recent Presidential election should give you an indication of this desire. If all Taiwanese are pro democracy and for independence, the current president would have secured an easy landslide victory. But he only got 40% of the votes while the pro mainland opposition candidate took 33%

@KrustyKlown US also does not recognize Taiwan as a sovereign nation. They follow the one China policy like the rest of the world. Doesn't matter what Taiwan thinks. They were denied membership to UN.
