  1. Not really. The tariff rates imposed by EU on both Byd and Geely are below their weighted average of 21%. Byd has the lowest tariff of 17.4%. These tariffs affect only BEV and not PHEV. Byd will be able to improve their market share in EU by importing more plug in hybrids. Even with the new tariff, their pure evs are still competitive enough. So for these 2 companies, the new tariffs would not have a major impact.

  2. The new tariffs would not have a major impact on Byd. Their 17.4% tariff is the lowest and it does not apply to PHEV. Byd should be able to increase their market share in Europe just by importing more plug in hybrids. The tariff on their BEV is not too high to make their ev pricing uncompetitive either.
