I have not heard of any case of their evs combusting. And they have been around for almost 2 years. They have just started.

  2. ​ @jallen1227  Advanced chips are overhyped. 90% of all chips produced are matured ones 28nm and above. The Chinese are the largest producers. These are used in most devices you used on a daily basis. Cutting edge chips improve perfomance speed, power consumption and heat dissipation. The Chinese are barred from having access to the tools needed to make high end chips, but they will eventually. Just like being barred from ISS. Within a decade they built and launched their own space station. Know of any other country who can copy and come up with their own version?

But now Elon Musk himself is facing some really tough competition from them. If you recalled, he laughed at BYD some years ago for making junk cars. Today, he has to use their batteries.

  13. Gasoline vehicles going up in flames are common occurrences. At least where I am from. Evs have been around here for almost 2 years and I have yet to see or hear of any of them combusting, so far.

This is why German automakers like VW and Audi are investing heavily in their ev tech in China. Not back home in Germany. VW have poured in billions to set up their ev research and development centre in Hefei China.

  16. Germany should be more concerned about saving their auto industry than wasting time and resources developing weapons they don't need. More than 460k Germans work in the vehicle production lines alone. Not including thousands who are in the supporting industries making car components.

  27. It's not true that you need advanced chips to build AI infrastructure. Mature chips can do the same job. China is behind in making high end chips only because they are not allowed access to EUV lithography machines from ASML, due to US sanctions. So they make do with older versions and at the same time building their own. Necessity is the mother of invention. So eventually they will reach their goal.

  28. They are selling pretty well here in Asean. I can see Chinese evs together with Tesla everywhere. There was none going back 2 years. They have only just started.

A quick scan of international news will tell you it's no longer. America has been left behind in so many industries where you once lead. Railways, shipping, auto, renewable energy for example. Even space where you reign supreme for decades is now facing some serious competition and the competitor seems to have taken the lead recently.
