If its so secretive, how am I reading about it while crapping?
1000
@nothinghappenedatpearlharb7426 " Their buildings are tofu dregs" Have you watched any of their cyberpunk cities videos? Shanghai, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Guangzhou etc etc.

@spoders92 Everyone has access to cheap solar panels and evs because of them. The world should thank China for doing most of the work in transition to cleaner energy
45
Fortunstely there are alternatives. Otherwise it will be weaponised.
31
Don't make sense. They just did their 6th launch in first 3 weeks of 2024. It's all a walk in the park for them.
25
Can't do it yourself? Getting SKorea involved may force China to do likewise with NKorea. The reason SKorea went back on their proposed arms shipment to Ukraine,is Russia's threat to arm their northern cousins likewise.
23
Byd blade battery is the safest battery tech available. Tesla wouldn't have used them for their model Y if it is not .
18
@thundy308 Not necessarily true. The Chinese dominate the solar panel industry. They control almost 80% of the global market. There are very few non Chinese solar panel manufacturers left. Yet their panels have never been cheaper. The Chinese have actually made it affordable to install them. Unlike in the past when European manufacturers dominate. You should thank them for helping the world move towards renewable energy.

@kevinkevinkevin1909 People here in Asean have voted with their wallets. BYD Atto 3 is the best selling ev by a wide margin. Affordable, well made and safe. Buyers here know they have a 5 star safery rating from Euro NCAP. Not many here can afford overpriced German evs. No matter how good they may be.
12
@gerikbensing If you make a video praising China, you probably won't get too many views. But if you do the opposite then.... Serpentza realized this early on. His early days videos were quite China positives.
10
@williamalfonso1373 They have plenty to spare. Even if it's declining, won't impact much. Due to automation. China is the global leader in installing industrial robots to replace workforce. More than half the total number installed globally.
9
BYD Atto 3 has a 5 star Euro NCAP safety rating. Here in Australia also a 5 star ANCAP rating.
8
@seanthe100 Exports are as important as domestic consumption. You can't drive your economy just by relying solely on your own local market. Exports mean an opportunity to earn foreign exchange as well as spreading your business risks by diversifying into different markets. In the event of the slowdown in your own market.
7
Do you know how many American companies are in China. GM biggest overseas market is China. Tesla, Nike ( 2nd largest) and Apple also have sizable share there. Plenty more I could mention.
7
Here in Thailand Byd Atto 3 is the best selling ev since launch in Nov 2022. Have not heard of any fire so far. Their blade battery is the safest battery tech available. That's why Tesla use them in their model Y.
6
You did not include the Middle East, Africa , Asia Pacific, Oceania. The market is not just US and Europe.
6
The watch industry is in sunset mode. Only rich old men wear Rolex. They are irrelevant.
5
@enhancedutility266 When you pay for it, it's not copying. Anyway, they have completely replaced the early and now outdated German tech with their own.
5
@Grizabeebles Coping hard aren't you?.
4
Yup. They have the same wings and wheels.
4
Wrong. Its a global navigation network like GPS. It provides better accuracy in China and Asia Pacific region than the latter. No idea about the cost.
4
Tesla has total control of their Shanghai gigafactory. There is no Chinese joint venture partner.
4
@xhaltsalute Three Gorges Dam is nicely humming along and generating 22500 megawatt of green energy since 2006.
4
@SK-lt1so The biggest open air prison in the world is Gaza.
4
@seanthe100 Wise decision. Why pay more for a name. Do you know that the production cost of a basic handmade Hermes Birkin handbag is about USD800. By the time it reaches the shelf of a high end luxury retail outlet, the price tag can be between twelve thousand to fifteen thousand dollars.
3
China is the largest supplier of car parts in the world. In fact US car makers rely on them , not the other way around. High tariff on Chinese car imports is the only effective weapon they have.
3
But somehow they built and launched a space station .
3
Pale in comparison with this one in Shanghai.
3
@GoGoPooerRangers Already making electric buses in Lancaster California for sometime now.
3
They did not steal any of your jobs. That's not possible when they on the other side of the world. Your corporations have shipped them over for market share and profits.
3
German automakers most definitely. Chinese market is the reason why they still have an auto industry. Why do you think the German Chancellor and a bunch of industrialists recently went to meet Xi.
3
According to a report released recently by the Australian Strategic Institute, it pointed out that China leads in 37 out of the 44 Critical Technology sectors. The remaining 7 is led by the US.
3
Paranoid
3
I am pretty sure if one is pointed at your head, it will definitely blow your brains out.
3
@yotaiji012 Not anymore. Vastly improved because of their efforts to decarbonisedbover the past decades. To keep improving the air quality by going green and to achieve carbon neutral by target date of 2060.
3
You really miss the point. It's about mankind dream of the possibility of generating endless energy without carbon emissions. We don't stop pushing the boundaries. All the fascinating tech marvels we see around us today, is because we don't stop researching and looking for a better and more efficient way for things to work.
3
Yeah like Huawei
2
Which ones, where and when? Details will be useful.
2
Decades of sanctions could not stop the Iranian nuclear program and their ability to produce drones used in Ukraine.
2
@wisemanofsorts6068 Profit taking. His 2008 investment of 230 million dollars in BYD was worth around 5 billion dollars by early 2023.
2
@trobinson14kc Looking at the two countries bilatetal trade volumes with China, I would say the statement is true. Business relationship
2
@rickjames18 China's food supplier is right next door. As for chips, most high tech weaponry systems do not require the most cutting edge chips to operate. China is the largest producer of mature chips, which is anything 14nm and above.
2
They control more than 50% of the global commercial building orders. If their quality is questionable why would anyone trust them to build their ships?
2
Guess who has been renegading international agreements lately.
2
If you want be rich, first build roads. No infrastructure no progress. Plain and simple. Especially for a landlocked country like Laos.
2
@mitchellscheer677 All very fine except you forgot the NKorea factor. SKorea will never be part of any US military invasion force, knowing the threat from the north. Don't expect Asean to be part of this foolishness. Indonesia and Malaysia control the Malacca straits. Without them on your side, what blockade you are talking. about.
2
@MD97531 Paper also cuts and you know it's quite painful. China is now leagues ahead of Russia.
2
You are here.
2
You have to keep up with times. In the nineties yes but today many of their cars are safer than many European models. Check the 5 star safety rating by Euro NCAP for some of Nio ,BYD and MG models.
2
@mauroducusin7106 imagine comparing US naval bases in Diego Garcia. Okinawa or Guam with these tiny speck of islands in SCS.
