  1. Byd is the best selling ev here in Asean by a wide margin because of its affordability. Not many in this region can afford overpriced German Taycan or Etron. In fact to keep up with demand , they are building a assembly plant here in Thailand. Until as late as end 2022 you don't see any Chinese ev on the road. Now they are everywhere.

  3. But still Tesla source most of their batteries from the Chinese. Byd and Catl. They know which battery tech is the safest for their evs. Otherwise they would have used European or American ones ( if they exist)

  5. What IP did they give up? The Chinese are far ahead. Even VW had invested almost a billion dollars in setting up an ev research and development center in Anhui, China. They know where the innovation is coming from.
