  1. ​ @robertb1802  8.0 magnitude earthquake coming from a depth of 19km is pretty powerful. Don't expect the housing and building infrastructure in rural countryside of Sichuan to be earthquake resistant. The 1989 San Francisco earthquake was just 6.9 magnitude and yet the destruction and damage to the city infrastructure was just as bad. Mind you this is SF city, not some rural countryside with scattered population. Like in Sichuan.

  3. Yet China built and launched their own space station. A private Chinese aerospace company Landscape recently succeeded in launching the first ever methane and liquid oxygen rocket into orbit . Beating SpaceX whose attempt blew up on the launching pad.
