@tooltalk Not true. Besides Germany and Hungary, Morroco has just signed agreement with Chinese battery maker Gotion who will invest 1.2 billion euros to build an entire industrial ecosystem to manufacture batteries. Sorry to disappoint you.

Public transport. Where I am from, its lacked like sardine can during rush hour. Lost count the number of times was late for work. Stressful when you have to do this six times a week. This is what we need here. Something small , compact and affordable.

Copying? You dont know what you are talking about. China is way ahead in research and development of the ev industry than anyone else. European automakers like VW and Mercedes are investing in Chinese ev tech to build their own models. VW invested 700 million dollars for a 5% stake in Chinese evmaker Xpeng, to get access their tech. They have also invested a billion dollars to set up an ev R&D centre in Hefei China. Not back home in Germany. While Mercedes are planning to build an all electric CLA model using the autonomous driving solutions provided by Chinese start up Momenta. They have made some investments in this start up after realizing their potential, early on.

You must still stuck in the nineties. Elon Musk thought so some years back when he laughed at BYD for making crappy cars.Hes not laughing anymore. They are breathing down his neck. To add to this, he is using their blade batteties for his model Y.

They don't have to. Tesla uses mostly Chinese batteries. That is testimony to their fire proof quality.

They can copy all they want. But can they mass produced and sell at Chinese prices. Like Elon Musk said, making a prototype is the easy part but to produced it as a finished and market ready product is another story all together.

The world is much more than old Europe. Chinese evs are selling well in Asean, Oceania, Gulf countries and South America. They should just focus on these regions.
