  1. There are far more petrol cars catching fire than evs. Where I am from, there were exactly 2 ev fires for 2023. One was due to faulty charger. While there were a number of cases of petrol cars catching fire.

  2. Chinese evs absolutely dominate here in Asean especially Thailand. Top four are all Chinese brands followed by Tesla. They are gonna eventually dominate South America as well since BYD is the best selling brand in Brazil. Proof is always in the pudding, not some dramatic video on YT. Even Tesla knows BYD and Catl make the safest batteries since they are using them.

  3. According to a study done by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, evs catch far less than fossil fuel vehicles. For 2022 around 3400 cars caught fire. All were petrol cars except for 28 evs and plug in hybrids. That equates to 0.004 % of all evs and hybrids on Swedish roads. While for fossil fuel cars it is 20 times more at 0.08% of all fossil cars on the road. This is just from one reliable source. Where I am from there were no ev fire reported last year but many for petrol cars. So don't be too taken in by all these dramatic videos on YT.
