  1. Beijing to Shanghai takes about 4.5 hours by high speed train. Not maglev. Train journey is more of an adventure and much more fun, if you are going with friends. It's not all about time and cost.

  2. Train journeys are always more of an adventure and definitely more fun. Than to sit in cramped space and be scared out of your wits if the plane encounters severe air turbulence.
