Back in June 2011 when the Beijing - Shanghai high speed rail service launched their maiden trip, she was on board this brand new train and observed there were very few passengers. She remarked she had doubts this will be successful, as most Chinese would not be able to afford the fare. Fast forward today. This line is the busiest and most profitable route for the Chinese railways. It runs 41 daily trips to the two cities and carried more than 50 million passengers last year. She has probably learned by not commenting about the viability of this robotaxi service. She didn't want to wrong again.

  38. They just launched their fastest high speed train, the CR450 just a couple of days ago. It can touch speed of 450km/h, making it the fastest passenger carrying( not prototype) high speed train in the world. Commercial services to start in matters of weeks. Who did they copy this from? Most definitely not US since they are still struggling to complete their first line. After decades of planning and massive cost overruns.

  46. Boy are you in for a surprise. Do you know their phones have pre-installed Google services in some South East Asian countries, like mine. I used their Nova 10 SE model that I can access chrome and Gmail. I don't need google store as their own app gallery has almost all the same apps I find in G store. They have navigation map Petal as a replacement for gmaps. And there is also Waze .

Their GDP per capita income has to be distributed across their massive 1.4 billion population, as compared to 745 million in Europe and 350 million in US. Hence their lower percapita income. billion population as compared with the West. A manufacturing and export driven economy does not create the kind of individual wealth you see in the West.

While the other Chinese has to get Japanese help to build their sole Taipei to Koashuing hsr line. As for space station, it's beyond their capability.

  71. Not entirely true. I live in a hot tropical country in South East Asia. Average day temp 30 degrees C. Cases still going up. Heat may slow spreading rate but not eliminate it entirely. Our experience for past 2 months. We are at close to 200 with thankfully zero death. But the number can only increase.
