@Jeremy-wp4yh It's relative. If a kid takes a really expensive degree - say Medicine - their starting salary at graduation is six figures. They can live at home for the next two or three years and pay off that degree in that time frame, no problem. Even if they don't live at home, on six figures the degree pays for itself quickly. That's the kind of degree kids who aren't from rich families need to be taking. Degrees that won't even pay themselves off, are strictly for the rich - obviously. They're for people who don't need to work for a living. We peasants need to be doing STEM courses in fields of high demand. Guaranteed jobs, and guaranteed high salaries. It's a no brainer. It's so self-evident that if it hasn't occurred to the young person (or their stupid parents!), they're probably not smart enough for university.

@Jeremy-wp4yh They're not the same prices though. A Bachelor of Arts is going to be half the price, usually.

@Jeremy-wp4yh Pay it off quickly, and the interest is minimal. Kids get into trouble when they take way too long to pay off the loan.

@Jeremy-wp4yh Since going to university (and borrowing money) is a choice, then it can never be the fault of any but the kid and their parents. We all know there are things for sale which aren't good value for money, but we're not forced to buy them. EG I didn't want to borrow money for university, so I worked during the day and went to school at night. Others might choose to do a trade instead, and get paid to learn. There are so many ways to do things, that we can never blame any but ourselves if we make a stupid choice.
