How did a four year old end up almost drowning? Kids that age should never be unsupervised (very very closely) around water. Not for a split second.

How is it that no one was watching you?

@tropheusanims698 No, it does NOT. It can only happen if you are not supervised. Failing to supervise small children around water, is fucking reprehensible.

@itsok2bwhiteendanti-whiteh548 I agree - and I'm not even white. We're seeing the reincarnation of 1950's style racism.

@katelynpoorman7746 I'm sure you'd love that to be true, so your own parenting gaps are justified. Unfortunately you're out of luck. I birthed three of the little devils - and kept them alive.

I can't believe how many commenters are talking about almost drowning because they accidentally walked into deeper water (above their heads). That can only happen if you're a NON SWIMMER - and what in heck are non swimmers doing in water 😳. Why on earth are they doing that? If they're all so keen to get wet, why not just learn to swim FFS? Damn, people are odd.

@itsok2bwhiteendanti-whiteh548 Thanks, I think. The only irritant is the sheer number of parents here who feel accused - which is only going to happen if you know you or someone you love has dropped the ball. The guilt is VERY loud, let's just say. Also the wishful thinking that anyone who worked harder on not dropping the ball, is necessarily "not a parent" is pathetically obvious. These kinds of people hate being shown up, so go straight into denial mode. We all know that the level of supervision that children DESERVE, requires huge effort and commitment - and that there are no "just for a moment" breaks in that responsibility. When these people react so strongly, that's really what they're reacting to. They hate that truth. They want parenting to be much easier than that.

@koetekage2802 Exactly!

@jacksiegel926 Exactly.

@roxiegs348 No they don't. Not unless your guard is down. And yes, very much a parent. I never took my eyes of any of mine around hazards, even for a second. It's not freaking hard to do.

@Clark1967 Bullshit. It's ALWAYS a failure of supervision.

Why did you need to be able to stand? Aren't you able to swim? If not, what the hell are you doing anywhere near water?
