Federal Firefighters risking their lives to keep the entire Nation from burning to the ground are lucky to make 13 - 14 Dollars an hour and a little bit better on overtime during big campaign fires at the GS-3 or GS-4 Level. So your attempt to turn this conversation around by attacking Jenk here is quite wrong. Yes, Forestry Firefighters are getting hosed ( all puns intended ) and yet all people like you can do is turn a blind eye to them! Try working a Fire Line at a Big Fire sometime and you'll understand quite quickly how frightening, dangerous, filthy, dirty, and totally exhausting it is.

  2. Federal Employees can't stick up for themselves either as, that damned Hatch Act of 1994 prohibits it. Catch 22 if there ever was one for Federal Employees. Time to go to work for the "State, County, and Municipal Civil Service Agencies" I guess.
