  2.  @altrag  Just because something seems easy to ascertain does not mean that it shouldn't be questioned. The history of scientific discovery is riddled with things we thought we know which we later found out were not so. My comment was not aimed at a particular degree of aptitude of scientific knowledge. But your retort suggests that science is always pure and golden and that trust (faith) should always be earned. I disagree—fraudulent "science" exists (even peer reviewed) and is more subtle than just "oh trust the science." It's a ridiculous argument to compare the sciences of the shape of the Earth to the sciences of MRNA vaccines or even gravity.
