  3. Follow the etymology: Living beings do not have a gender. Living beings have a sex, which is typically male or female and atypically intersex. Only inanimate objects or concepts have a gender, such as electrical connections, or nouns and adjectives in a particular language. Follow the science: Sex is determined in living beings by genetic variation. It is not possible to change one's sex, at least not with current technology. Perhaps the technology will be available in the future, but the problem is between the ears and not the legs. The brain is the most-complex and least-understood organ.
