  1.  @PlainlyDifficult  Reading the remainder of the text on the screen you excerpted from the report is interesting as it discusses such a type of SCAT system, what it would entail, and potential disadvantages of attempted implementation. One of the more interesting discoveries from such reading is that these trains did not have a speedometer—drivers had to estimate their speed themselves! Ouch.

  6. Another incorrect tidbit: The speed limit on the road was and is 55 miles per hour. The sign pictured at 4:45 is a warning sign, warning of the curve. The speed limit shown with the sign is a recommended reduced speed, but it is NOT a legal speed limit. Heavier or taller vehicles should take note that they may need to slow down even more. Beyond the "T" intersection where the accident happened, the speed limit is reduced to 50 MPH in either direction.

  8. "NY 30" refers to New York State Route 30. It should be pronounced as "State Route 30" or "Highway 30" or "New York State Route 30" or "New York Highway 30". Just as GB has Motorway > Axxx > Bxxx > Cxxx > Dxxx roads, the United States has Interstate Highways > US Highways > State Highways > County Highways/Roads.

  13. Eastcheap is a very confusing street name for a foreigner to understand. It sounded like you were saying "E Streep" (a flub of "street") but I had to look at a map to understand what you were actually saying. Streets, like celebrities, that go by momonyms are also just pretentious.
