@ghostypanic1 This is why videos like these are entertaining, but ALWAYS take them with a grain of salt. Do your own research. You have the sum of human knowledge at your fingertips—use it.

This video was pretty poor on the fact part. Yes, I was shocked.

@aturner488 There is no perfect person. (Other than Jesus Christ.) Just because someone was against slavery back then does not automatically mean he was morally righteous in every aspect of his life. Or whatever issue you want to glare back through history to shake your finger at.

A defense attorney is only as good as his imagination and experience.
7
He was a menace.
6
I ‘like’ how a “fact” morphs into a common belief...
5
Don't believe everything you read. For every great man there is a pathetic man wanting to undo that great man.
4
Question everything.

3:06 This fact is wrong. Light can be slowed down, even to a stop. It's an electromagnetic wave and is subject to electromagnetic forces. On a related note, it has been estimated that it may take 100000 years for light to work its way from the center to the surface of the sun and escape.
3
Sounds like it wasn't that bad, then.
3
I have pizza almost every Saturday for lunch and "pizza comas" are common after lunch...
3
I am so lucky. My kidney stones have never been particularly painful.
3
@BariumCobaltNitrog3n What's a scientific fact?
3
@Thesixwolf6 No one today actually believes the Earth is flat. Some people just have to be contrarian. Or they seek attention, even for something preposterous.
3
Fact #0: The gravity of the black hole is so strong that you will die before you can even think about being close enough to it. It isn't talked about often enough, but we can't even get that close to our sun for its gravity alone.
3
I spoke with an eastern US accent when I started to talk. I grew up in the midwest.
2
No. Many of them aren't even accurate and most others are theoretical ideas.
2
Even that would not make it a fact. Perception isn't necessarily reality.
2
In order for that to be accurate, there would have to be white holes to come out of. Where are all the white holes?
2
Mathematics is a powerful tool.
2
Mmm I love dark (not burnt) toast. 🙂
2
Great for you quitting smoking. That's one of THE HARDEST addictions to quit for most people. Good luck on quitting your Capitalizing Each Word addiction.
2
@mansiondave23 Then I will. Communism IS evil and wrong. It is a means to suppress people and individual freedom. If you want to be a despot and fatcat, then be a communist dictator. Standing on everyone under you's back pays very well. The people that claim "Communism isn't that bad, we just need to implement it correctly" are the most-ignorant of human history.
2
He didn't do a lot of awful things. For the most part, he did what had to be done. It's "easy" to critique things we only think we understand out of ignorance 250 years later.
2
1!:30 What about vaccines that aren't actually vaccines??
2
Our sun isn't big enough to go supernova. In about 5 billions years it will have expanded into a cooler red giant (engulfing the Earth) and when it's all over it will be a white dwarf which takes a long time to cool to a dark cinder of exotic matter.
2
@fanafelg No.
2
That's communism. Socialism isn't any better.
2
The irony being 99% of people reading your comment don't know what asystole is and can't be arsed to even look it up... haha
2
@JZJ7777 Not being able to breathe is painful, and it's slow.
2
9:48 Whoops!
1
The fact that Japan did NOT surrender after the first bomb is proof that a "demonstration" would have had zero effect on ending the war.
1
Lots of these videos have small or big "facts" that are misleading, incomplete, or flat-out wrong. I still enjoy the channel, but this is not an authoritative source of sound knowledge and its own sources are not necessarily original or correct or authoritative either. For example, looking at the disclosed sources for this video, one of the sources contradicts this video by proclaiming daily multivitamins don't really do much for you.

Binroe was right!!
1
And people actually believe that evil isn't real or that satan doesn't exist. For the record, rubber trees do not drip "sap" they drip latex. Sap is a pretty simple substance but latex is not... equating them is like saying milk is the same as water.
1
Yes. But the brain still influences it, and the heart will eventually stop beating on its own without drive from the brainstem.
1
@tony3x Spiky little monster in a small collapsed tube. That's why.
1
8:37 Not saying the old myth is true, but quite a few things affect our immune systems over our lives and day by day. Cold temperatures can certainly be one of those, especially as the human body changes circulation patterns in response to cold weather and its effects.
1
Yeah WTF was he even talking about here?? Makes the mistake about the name of the Milky Way's black hole pretty puny in comparison...
1
@streetrat160 Not the same stuff as you, that's for sure! It most certainly is an electromagnetic wave. That's why it's called electromagnetic radiation. Please, read a book to keep up.
1
@streetrat160 “The terms light, electromagnetic waves, and radiation all refer to the same physical phenomenon: electromagnetic energy. ” Now you've just contradicted what you wrote above, because this is, essentially, correct. But "energy" and "wave" are synonymous since the whole point of quantum understanding is that it's all waves. You wrote "light is not an electromagnetic wave" which is clearly absurd. You have no foundation to lecture me or anyone else. I cannot change this for you.
1
@streetrat160 What a coincidence: my narrative aligns with facts. It's hard to defend that, isn't it?
1
8:16 NOOOO! The black hole is properly called Sagittarius A* and that asterisk is not silent—it's pronounced "star." The black hole is called sagittarius-a-star. I might not make it through this video.
1
Electric cars are an environmental disaster.
1
Yeah, seemed odd the video pointed to a state of sleep before REM sleep. :eyes-purple-crying:
1
No, that doesn't prove that, actually.
1
LOL
1
24:35 What about the myth of saturated fats being bad for you? Oh maybe that will be next... (yeah, right)
1
4:30 That's... that's a poor assumption. It cannot be assumed that identical twins have the exact same DNA sequences. They may start off the same, but a little mutation early on can change that pretty easily.
1
Yes but no.
