This video was pretty poor on the fact part. Yes, I was shocked.

3:06 This fact is wrong. Light can be slowed down, even to a stop. It's an electromagnetic wave and is subject to electromagnetic forces. On a related note, it has been estimated that it may take 100000 years for light to work its way from the center to the surface of the sun and escape.

@BariumCobaltNitrog3n What's a scientific fact?
3
Fact #0: The gravity of the black hole is so strong that you will die before you can even think about being close enough to it. It isn't talked about often enough, but we can't even get that close to our sun for its gravity alone.
3
No. Many of them aren't even accurate and most others are theoretical ideas.
2
Even that would not make it a fact. Perception isn't necessarily reality.
2
In order for that to be accurate, there would have to be white holes to come out of. Where are all the white holes?
2
Mathematics is a powerful tool.

@fanafelg No.

@streetrat160 Not the same stuff as you, that's for sure! It most certainly is an electromagnetic wave. That's why it's called electromagnetic radiation. Please, read a book to keep up.
1
@streetrat160 “The terms light, electromagnetic waves, and radiation all refer to the same physical phenomenon: electromagnetic energy. ” Now you've just contradicted what you wrote above, because this is, essentially, correct. But "energy" and "wave" are synonymous since the whole point of quantum understanding is that it's all waves. You wrote "light is not an electromagnetic wave" which is clearly absurd. You have no foundation to lecture me or anyone else. I cannot change this for you.

@streetrat160 What a coincidence: my narrative aligns with facts. It's hard to defend that, isn't it?

8:16 NOOOO! The black hole is properly called Sagittarius A* and that asterisk is not silent—it's pronounced "star." The black hole is called sagittarius-a-star. I might not make it through this video.

4:20 No, this is wrong, too. There is no such thing as infinite anything in our universe. The only thing that can go on forever is nothing, and the universe is obviously not nothing. Current theoretical mathematical models of black holes indicate that there is a point of infinite density in the very center of a black hole. But anyone who stops to think about this must realize how silly that sounds. We don't understand the center of a black hole, but it's absurd to assume spacetime supports infinite density, energy, and gravity. For the same reason that mass cannot be accelerated to the speed of light.

@@roadrunner7988 That has absolutely nothing to do with what I wrote.
1
@@roadrunner7988 “No one thinks there’s a singularity actually there in the black hole.” Oh! Well, that's news to me. Since they're talked about ALL the time. Including in this video. Repeatedly. (Translation: You are incorrect about that)

@@roadrunner7988 Got a particular paper in mind?

Because ignorance!

No one knows.

@kineticstar *allegedly.

Poorly.

@BariumCobaltNitrog3n More to the point, that's how a non-intelligent person thinks intelligence works.
1
There can be and are black holes without there being singularities, which aren't.

@DDlambchop43 It doesn't take a troll to realize the ridiculousness and absurdity of this video. There is a LOT wrong in it! Starting with the title.

@fanafelg What's to explain? How most of these "facts" are just theories? Or that he can't even get the name of the Milky Way's supermassive black hole correct? There are plenty of other comments here regarding these issues.
