  2.  @mvpfocus  Just because it may not be law doesn't mean it's not still a good idea. According to the law you just quoted, tandem turn lanes are illegal in Texas.

  3.  @AppalachianCascadian  You were not there, you don't know how slick the roads were, how good his tires were, or anything else. All you see is the video which does not convey these things. Having PATIENCE means giving other drivers the benefit of the doubt for things you may not understand. Some people call this COURTESY. Yes, courtesy also dictates not holding up traffic unnecessarily, but I would rather a driver NOT make a turn he's not comfortable with versus risking accident and injury.

  4.  @polarys425  There's a reason rear-ending someone is almost always the rear-ender's fault. Pay attention to the road and drive to conditions. Most people follow too damn closely as it is. It does not matter if it's a driver making a left turn onto a residential street (which you should NOT DRIVE AROUND him for) or stopped at a red light.

  5.  @mvpfocus  The best idea in traffic is to follow common sense. Laws vary but laws are usually the "bare minimum" to effect safety or resolve conflict. Each driver should do whatever is within his power to avoid accident and injury. Making a left turn into the left lane of travel is the common sense safest course. Not making a right turn when oncoming traffic is making a left turn is also a common sense safest course. There doesn't have to be a prohibition from a traffic control to realize that.

  7.  @bigswoll61  LOL! I was waiting for that. I haven't bought a dash cam but I have been thinking about it. I am a good driver, but am surrounded by idiots like the honking jackass in this video with no patience. There's little difference, in my mind, between that moron and the driver that drives on the shoulder or dirt around a traffic jam.
