  1. Being in the Royal Air Force or US Army Air Force over Europe during WWII was one of the most absolutely deadly things to do. Those bomber crews were so unbelievably brave! I don't have the exact statistics and I don't know about the British, but I read that more US Airmen died over Europe in WWII than US Marines died in the Pacific! The Air Was was absolutely insane!
