  1. 6:34 Russia has already broken its written promise to respect Ukrainian sovereignty as laid out in the Budapest Memorandum. Seizing Crimea in 2014 already showed it wasn't enough for Russia. There is nothing Russia can do for it's written word to be ever trusted again. I don't see Ukraine accepting anything less than a defensive pact with the West

  2. If the West leads the negotiation, it will confirm everything that the Russia claims, which is that Ukraine is a Western puppet. And Ukrainians will not be happy to think they're a Western puppet that was sold out to Russia because they were too afraid of Putin.

  3. Did Ulysses S. Grant demand peace at any price? No. Of course he wanted peace, but he wasn't going to give up a chunk of the USA for it. Walking away from this with any chunk of Ukraine, any demands met, is victory for Russia. You cannot appease fascist nations like Russia. You cannot negotiate with dictators. Anything less than Ukraine fully restored is a loss for Ukraine and the West. Another humiliation and embarrassment to add to the West's reputation along with Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. What are you going to tell the families of dead Ukrainians? They sacrificed everything for nothing?
