  3. Most common Americans didn't care about the Iraq War or the War in Afghanistan either. We live our day-to-day lives and these wars are just headlines and articles. Most of us have work and our personal lives. While a few of us like to follow these things as a hobby or because we personally know people involved, the vast majority of Americans only know what they occasionally read or hear. Far more Americans are interested in their own hobbies or sports or family or other things to do any real research. It's also why most American politicians get away with what they do because most Americans aren't going to spend their time doing a deep dive on documents and history and so on with politicians and government policy. It's also why journalists and news organizations are so important.
