  3. They don't. The US and UK went into the Iraq War alone. The US went into Vietnam alone. If NATO had to listen to the US, they would've been involved in Vietnam and Iraq

  4.  @thepalerider  NATO was created as a military alliance between friendly democratic countries in North America and Europe to defend against the USSR. The EU was created later than NATO as an economic alliance, but in recent decades, the EU has moved to creating a "United States of Europe".
