  1. The US has the highest military budget in the world and is one of the largest militaries in the world. Imagine how much of that huge budget is going just to maintenance on ships, aircraft, trucks, tanks, etc. None of them are useful if they aren't maintained. If their broken parts aren't replaced. If there isn't a crew regularly test driving it. Now for more context, Russia has the GDP of Italy. Does it really make sense that they could maintain a military the size of the US's and keep it modern as well as maintained and repaired? No. They're full of corruption and save face by investing into buying 20 new T-14 Armata tanks and one single SU-57.
