  6.  @joshpearson2970  I'm not "huffing copium" so to speak. My only issue is that the US political loss in the Afghanistan doesn't change the potency of the US military in conventional conflict. But it is pretty hilarious watching the Anti-Americans lose their minds over how effective US military equipment is in Ukraine. Because to them, the US losing in Afghanistan means the US military must be weak and inept. It's like the Vietnam War. The US strategy in Vietnam was absolutely horrendous. We didn't even invade North Vietnam out of fear of creating a wider conflict with the PRC. Our strategy was basically to just kill as many North Vietnamese as possible and just...wait for them to give up. The problem with partisan wars like Vietnam and Afghanistan is that the South Vietnamese government and the Afghan government didn't offer anything new or better to their people. Even though the Vietnamese monarchy (which was basically a puppet of France) had been deposed, most of the same old aristocrats and corrupt officials were still in power in the new Republic of South Vietnam. But I digress. The problem for the Conflict in Ukraine is that the Russians have only been able to capture and hold land where most ethnic Russians lived in Ukraine and even still, Russian soldiers are being attacked by local Ukrainians partisans and Ukrainian Special Forces. The latest attack on the building in Mariivka that resulted in 89+ dead Russian soldiers, the most likely cause was local Ukrainian partisans relaying the info to the Ukrainian military. Just like when South Vietnamese would tell the Viet Cong about the location of American soldiers or the Taliban joining the Afghan Army to shoot US soldiers in the back. Wars of occupation are extremely difficult and totally different than conventional wars. Not that the USA hasn't won wars of occupation in the past. But that goes into strategy and such and I don't want to drone on too long.
