  6.  @toasty4394  Yes, but that's not true initially. China had no Navy in 1949 and when they did in the 1950's, the US Navy prevented them from invading Taiwan. Diplomatic ramifications? In 2021? Over Taiwan? Taiwan doesn't even have a seat in the UN. It's unrecognizable by most countries, including the USA. There are a total of 7 countries in the world that recognize Taiwan as a country and China has punished those nations. China does not invade Taiwan because they know that the US has pledged to defend Taiwan.
