Thank you Italy! NATO allies forever!

The ships are still being built in the USA for the most part and they have been redesigned to fit American needs, so anyone who complains "it's not American" can stfu

I live 4 hours away from Marinette Marine! It here in my home state of Wisconsin! It right on the Wisconsin-Michigan border!

Italy is awesome and a great ally! This American thanks you and your country!

Yes. The entire US military uses metric

@forzaisspeed You haven't said a single fact in any of your comments. Try writing those same things without crying this time

They're worried about China and Iran seizing the Strait of Harmouz

Because ship-on-ship naval warfare is now way over the horizon.

@trekkienzl2862 I live in Wisconsin and most people in Marinette (Marinette Marine is where the ships are being built) are White, Black, Native American or Hispanic. There might be some Hmong, but the Hmong are mostly in Green Bay. There is also a large Somali community, but they are mostly in the Green Bay area, not Marinette.

Notice how Europeans almost never buy anything American? But take that with a grain of salt. Most European nations don't have the combat experience of the USA or the opponents of the USA. The next conflict will most likely between the USA and China. Europe has no plans to be involved

Marinette is in Wisconsin, on the Great Lakes. It's were they will be built. It's a good spot, because they the fresh water will not erode the ships as bad as salt water does. Then once they are ready for commissioning, they will head to the ocean

The whole US military does. So yes

That's a good question. I think it depends if China could get air superiority over the South China Sea. The US most likely wouldn't want to get too close and risk losing ships to anti-ship missiles. The US would let it's aircraft destroy anti-ship batteries and bunkers before sending in it's Navy and Marines to take the islands

The 57mm is more standard to other US ships and this frigate is something they want to escort carriers with. Future naval warfare will way out of the range of both the 57 and 76 so it's just better to have the 57. Besides, the US has developed smart ammo for the 57
1
No we still build our own cutters, LCS's, aircraft carriers, submarines and patrol boats
