  1. If aircraft carriers are obsolete, then the Chinese and Indians are really incompetent. Both nations plan on having 4-5 aircraft carriers with both moving to acquire their 3rd within the next 4 years. The US has also been developing defenses against anti-ship missiles and torpedos. If I were China or Russia, I'd be equally concerned about US submarines. The Seawolf class and Virginia class are far from anemic

  4.  @TheFlanker47  See I don't think you really understand the point of an aircraft carrier and that was my whole point to begin with. US aupercarriers are even better than what China, France, India, the UK and France have. To sink an aircraft carrier, you have to sink it's escorts or shoot down it's aircraft. You can't launch a missile at a carrier if the aircraft destroy you first. Even at worst, you fire the missile, aircraft extend the capability of detecting such launches. During the Gulf War, Iraq launched several anti-ship missiles at Coalition ships, but the ships had 10 minutes to prepare because US aircraft had detected the launches.
