When you think about something like France vs Brazil, it really puts in perspective how powerful countries like China, Russia and the USA are. Those are really the only 3 countries that could effectively wage war anywhere in the world.

France should just give French Guiana to Suriname and make a deal to allow the European Union Space Agency to use the rocket launch pad there

@Alby_Torino I know, but have you seen how poor and neglected French Guiana is? Most of the population is forced to use gas generators. They suffer from rolling blackouts that rival North Korea. France has completely neglected them. At least they could pool their resources together with Suriname and spend their own tax money on themselves rather than be doomed to a poverty-stricken backwater. That's not even addressing the racism and colonialism involved in France exploiting the majority native and black region...

@seannaesseannaes I mostly said it to get likes and not offend people. The USA is pretty much the only nation that can wage war anywhere in the world and, especially not feel any substantial economic backlash at home

@honorehodary511 This video is all the evidence I need. France has little to no capability to retake French Guiana without economic pressure from its allies. No doubt that France is a powerhouse in Europe and Mediterranean Sea. Turkey would not be able to fight France and Greece in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, which is why it was such big news when France sent the Charles De Gaulle aircraft carrier that way. But the fact is that France is much more of a regional power than a global one. I never have included China in my original statement. 1) You are right. They have little combat experience. 2) While they have a large navy some influence in east Africa, their navy does not have the amphibious capabilities required for large operations around the world. They are a regional power, with the most influence in South and Central Asia.

Douglas Costa After the 1970's, the PRC has had little to no combat experience. It sounds kind of morbid, but the War in Afghanistan has been really crucial to the militaries of the USA, the UK, Germany, France, Poland, etc. because it allows their soldiers and equipment to be tested in real combat. Everything might be great on paper, but you need real combat to know how your army is going to act and react.
