  1. That's an odd argument. Russia didn't do shit for the Allies. It had no compassion for Europe. It was in WWII out of necessity because Hitler betrayed Stalin and invaded Russia (the USSR). So Russia has no case. Russia invaded Crimea because 1) Crimea has a large Russian-speaking population (much of Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Poland, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia have ethnic Russians. Kazakhstan has forcibly migrated thousands of ethnic Kazakhs to it's border with Russia. They fear Russia using it as a reason for invasion). 2) Crimea will provide greater access to the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, along with more under water resources. 3) Crimea has a significant population and decent economy. Russia has a wounded economy and shrinking population. 4) Crimea will allow Russia to better control Ukraine's access to overseas trade while also allowing Russia to threaten other Black Seas nations.
