  1. The EU Frontex, which currently serves as a kind of Border Guard could very easily become the basis for an EU military within a decade or two. Ultimately, it will be up the people of the EU to decide how much of their own sovereignty they want to sacrifice for a stronger and more centralized EU. The United States of America struggled with lots of questions of sovereignty, individual rights, states rights, government power, etc. for the first 50 years of it's existence, including going through a bloody Civil War. European unity will not be easy, but hopefully it will be less bloody! Love the EU from the USA! 🇺🇸♥️🇪🇺

  2. I could see 2 or 3 official languages for the EU government, with English, French and German being the most likely, imo. English is already a very common second language in Europe and around the world. French is also one of the most popular second languages in the world. France and Germany have the biggest political influence in Europe and both have the some of biggest populations in Europe. I imagine that the EU would eventually approach language like Canada does, with government officials and public institutions being required to speak both French and English

  3. The problem with the USA is that it's federal government isn't centralized enough. You have 50 states with 50 different laws!

  4.  @calebamore  Well, for one, I get to hear Europeans tell me about how evil and oppressive the USA is for certain laws, when those laws only apply to one or two states. So that's a negative downside

  5.  @vicheaify  States do not have to follow federal law. Federal law says that marijuana is illegal. But it's legal in several states. In California, police officers can be fired from their job if they assist Federal Agents in detaining illegal immigrants.
