  1. What nobody seems to talk about is that the US-led world is not Unipolar. After WWII, the US led the free world into establishing the UN and the world order. To do this, the US had to sacrifice some sovereign power in order to form a more stable world it could benefit from. The US is powerful not just because of it's economy, but because of it's diplomatic relations. It has to negotiate and bargain and sometimes strategically, carefully pick it's responses. The US is a member of NATO, but every nation in NATO has veto power, meaning the US cannot force any nation to do anything. This is why the US went into Vietnam and Iraq nearly alone. It would be truly impressive if the USA had 40+ nations as puppets, but it doesn't. The US is powerful through a powerful economy, trade, military and carefully managed diplomacy.
