Dancing Hotdog As someone who grew up as and still identifies as a male, I found this interesting and somewhat comforting. Because I can really relate with what you said about getting in trouble a lot or having notebooks taken away for doodling. I used to drawcomics and hide them from teachers.

Not when boys are already more disadvantaged than girls

Nikhil Abraham I used to write violent stories and draw violent comics all the time! It was fun. But we hid it from the teachers to avoid getting in trouble. Theres nothing wrong with some guns or a monster destroying a city! However, I could see beheadings and such as wrong!

Gryffyd I was really good at writing in high school and middle school too. I wrote action stories and sometimes violent stories a lot and I often got lucky at not getting in trouble for them. Me and my friends drew violent comics together in note books and on sticky notes but we hid these from the teachers. I do remember however, how in 5th grade we weren't allowed to play in the grass or snow anymore because they didn't want us to get hurt or hurt each other. We had to play on concrete where there were only a few basketball hoops. Recess sucked, especially during the winter because all you could do was sit by the doors and wait for it to be over. I miss when we could play football at recess.

Grejsi Mojs It's male nature to compete! It's healthy and boys want to compete. They need it for healthy development! (Source: I was a boy 10 years ago)

Me and my friends drew violent comics together in note books and on sticky notes but we hid these from the teachers. I do remember however, how in 4th grade, we used to build snow forts and slides on the snow banks and have snowball fights. Then some kid got hit with a chunk of ice and nobody was allowed near the snow again. During the fall, we played flag football, but by spring they took away all the footballs and flags. In 5th grade we weren't allowed to play in the grass or snow anymore because they didn't want us to get hurt or hurt each other. We had to play on concrete where there were only a few basketball hoops. We used to play bleyblades and card games instead. In middle school, we used to bring our PSPs and Nintendo's to school because there wasn't anything else to do during recess. Recess sucked, especially during the winter because all you could do was sit by the doors and wait for it to be over.

More women graduate high school and college. More men are homeless, more men commit suicide and more men suffer mental illiness like depression

kwaengi Even if violence is a male thing, would it not be more dangerous to bottle it up instead of allowing them to channel it in creative ways? I drew violent comics and played violent sports as a kid, but I grew up fine
