The largest factor in a war is the motivation and support of the people. The South Koreans are very thankful that the USA (and the UN) were there to protect their freedom from Communist North Korea. But the Vietnamese and Afghans did not see the US and NATO as liberators or protectors. Only as occupiers. This is why the US and NATO lost those two wars. Ukraine is fighting for it's freedom from Russia. It's a different conflict for NATO than Afghanistan

@slippingsnake No doubt, some Afghans and some South Vietnamese legitimately wanted a democratic government and they fought hard for it. But there was not enough of them. The majority of the Afghans only saw the ANA as a steady paycheck. Not a chance to free their country

@cherryfairyy Yeah I don't feel like having this conversation. Communism, Juche, Fascism, N*zism, Falangism, etc. they all end up the same: a single strong political party = the state. Citizens are granted rights based on political party affiliation and status. The political party has the best interests of the people in mind. The political party is controlled by a few.
