I doubt the US would be in the same situation. The US did not run out of PGM's in the Gulf War, Iraq War or War in Afghanistan. Russia isn't just low on PGM's, they also failed to conduct any comprehensive SEAD missions and they failed to utterly cripple Ukrainian communications, logistics, command, troop movement or Air Force. It would very intellectually dishonest to compare the Russian Air Campaign in Ukraine to how the US has and would conduct it's own Air Campaign

Sounds like a hilariously bad book

@holgernarrog962 Those railway engines weren't coming back. The Sherman wasn't either. It had to be able to fit in US rail cars, US ships before the invention of the standarized Shipping Container, fit on European roads, cross bridges and they had to be repaired overseas. They couldn't be shipped back to the factory like the Germans or Soviets could do with their tanks

@piotrd.4850 You have no evidence to support your claims. And even if you did, all you did was prove that Russia can't supply the numbers of aircraft or be capable of planning a strategic air operation

According to Nicolas Moran, statistically the Sherman was the safest tank of WWII. But that doesn't matter. How we perceive things is so much more important than actual facts. Soldiers and news reporters believed the Sherman to be a death trap, so the reputation stuck. This is why myths, rumors and propaganda are so powerful. You don't need facts to have your thoughts and emotions manipulated.

@BLMVDV I've heard even Russian hospitals and emergency services are pretty run-down.

@MrEvanfriend What crawled up your ass and set up camp? Why don't you get a life instead of degrading people for their hobbies and passions?
2
Which of the 50 versions of the Panzer IV are you talking about?

It would've been interesting if the Allies has chosen to retake Greece instead or Albania, in an attempt to eventually link up with Soviet forces in Romania and Hungary. As we know, once the Allies reached Northern Italy, they got bogged down and it's a good thing the Americans planned a second invasion in France. Without it, who knows how long it would've taken them to reach Germany

I'm so glad I'm subscribed to you, The Chieftain and Perun!

Sometimes, like in a Civil War re-enactment, there are officers that point out soldiers who have "been hit" and tell them to die. Otherwise, you are given a general idea of how the battle will go (which side will win, which side advances and retreats) and you just die randomly.

Does the US military buy any vehicle made for the front? Just last week, some guy I work with was telling me that he hoped the Ukrainians weren't using the Humvees or Bradley's on the frontline because their armor is too thin to be on the Frontline.

Fury is a fake movie

In Korea, most soldiers were new. By 1950, most WWII veterans had retired from the Army

How does it compare to the BMP-1, BMP-2 or the Marder?

You forgot about German propaganda and books like "Death Traps"

Never look behind the curtain, as they say

Yes, but what battles did the Vietnamese win against the USA?
1
@emberfist8347 The US won the Battle of Khe Sanh: "Though U.S. officials expected a full-scale attack by North Vietnamese forces on the base, it never came, and in March Westmoreland ordered Operation Pegasus, a joint Army, Marine and ARVN ground advance that relieved the base and ended the siege by mid-April, after some 77 days." So you listed 2 military victories. But the US and Allies won the vast majority of battles. The Vietnam War was a political defeat for the USA, not a military defeat.

@alexanderbarkman7832 "They outperformed the US" yet suffered substantially higher casualties and lost nearly every battle
