  1. My family moved from Germany (Prussia to be specific) to the USA in 1865. They bought a farm in Wisconsin. I know where it was. It's a big suburb now, but it's kinda cool that I can point to where their first American home was. Apparently they hated the Kaiser, but the potato famine was happening around that time in Europe too, I think so that could also been partly why
