  3. You forget that much of the Tea Party hated FDR right? They think Social Security is a giant scam. And tbh, FDR expanded the power of the Executive branch to unbelievable levels. The president can now operate almost completely unchecked.

  5. Your liberal bias clouds your vision. It's almost like you didn't even watch the video smh. The Republicans wanted a part of the bailout to take care of the people and cut government spending in the long run. Obama got frustrated and went ahead without Republican participation. It angered a minority of the Republican Party and they essentially declared war. It fed into the radical Anarcho-capitalists hands and the belief that the government was corrupt and that Obama would do anything without consulting the opposition. There is a reason many conservatives still see Obama as a dictator. The Tea Party was born and it created the mess we're now in. Liberals calling moderate conservatives Nazis pushed them away from the negotiating table and conservatives calling the liberals bigots and socialists pushed them away. And here we are, calling each other nut cases and at each other's throats simply because we have different values.

  10. Susan Raby-Dunne I feel like you missed the beginning of the video, but it's not racism. I grow up in a conservative house. I watched my parents watch Fox news. I was teen during Obama's presidency. Yes, there are some racist people on the Right, but it was racism from the whole Republican Party. Let me explain it like this, you know the fear and powerlessness you feel now? Like you have no control? That's how the conservatives felt in 2008-12. The Democrats held Congress and the presidency and when Obama went through with that stimulus package without Republican participation, it confirmed conservatives eyes, their worst fear: a corrupt government that didn't care about them. Your cry of racism completely invalidates millions of people's values, and life experiences. I could explain further, but I doubt this comment will be read.
