@BruceNJeffAreMyFlies It is if a child breaks into a home and they die on the property. Are you teaching your children to break into houses for fun?

I really believe that since Katko had no reason to be on someone else's property, he had no reason to expect financial compensation for bodily injury on said property. The court got this case wrong imo

But it's his property. He shouldn't have to do anything he doesn't want too just because someone else decides to infringe on his rights

@MegaBanne If someone breaks into my home, takes a kitchen knife and commits suicide with one of my knives, I should not be held responsible. It is reasonable to assume someone uninvited into my home, would not proceed into my home and harm themselves with something I own. And it is certainly reasonable that I should not be held responsible.

Nice victim-blaming

Try not stealing and maybe you won't suffer bodily harm. It's not your property so it is reasonable to assume that you wouldn't be in danger unless you decide to risk venturing into someone else's property

@robo3007 If someone breaks into my house continuously and the law doesn't stop them, then what do I do? In another instance, if someone breaks into my house and stabs me to death, it's a little late for the law to protect me
2
@tbhon I want people to stop stealing from me, but the law proves unable and/or unwilling

Can you react to the realism of the court scenes from The Bridge of Spies

@creshiell He broke into people's homes?
1
@creshiell Well yeah, I've been to the abandoned school out in the country, but the front door literally was literally missing and there were no "no trespassing" signs. This was someone's house with locks and no trespassing signs. There's no reason for kid to break and enter into it
1
That could be a lot of waiting. Besides, it's usually illegal to have the intent to kill someone
1
What you're doing is called "victim-blaming"

What if that old house is your storage
