  2. Both conservative and liberal political ideologies have good ideas. They work best when the compromise and work together. But the problem is that individuals in the two camps, led by two political parties, have no incentive to do that. In fact, they make more personally when the groups are against each other.

  9. Well, if you want to be a politician, you need money and connections to have advertising, call centers, etc. To get money, you have donations. To get elected, you need money and votes. So why not appeal to poor voters and get rich money, by making policies with a bunch of asterisks?
