8:42 The "low survivability because of it's height" is my favorite myth. The Sherman tank was also critiqued for being too tall, yet it was statistically one of the safest tanks in WWII

@tasjan9190 "Death Traps" is not a good book. But most importantly it's a personal memoir, not a documentary. The author is extremely biased and his perspective very narrow. What he wrote is mostly based on his feelings, not facts. Statistically, the Sherman tank had some of the lowest crewmen losses of any tank in WWII. By comparison, the T-34 has one of the highest. When a T-34 was hit, it was almost always guaranteed that at least 2 of the crew would be killed. I encourage you to watch this video by the historian Nicolas Moran, who went into the national archives and collected data on these things. You're looking for the part where he debunks the myth of the Sherman being a "Death Trap". You're looking for specifically 33:30 https://youtu.be/bNjp_4jY8pY

@tasjan9190 I'm picking the Sherman to go into battle. Statisically the safest tank of the war. It was also reliable, did not break down often like the Tiger, Panther or T-34. And it wasn't thirsty for fuel or too heavy for most European bridges, like German tanks. Your opinion is based on your feelings and not on facts
