That (the use of English) is about to change. Last week, the State Duma of the Russian Federation passed in the first reading a bill "on the protection of the Russian language". According to it, information for consumers (signboards, signs, advertising) will have to be provided only in Russian. Thus, it should become impossible to use on signs and store windows such inscriptions as, for example, "coffee", "fresh", "sale", "store", "open", etc. in a foreign language.
