I can't speak for Europe, but as someone who has lived in the U.S. for 25 years, I can say that purchasing power in Russia is at an acceptable level. I say this taking into account the prices of housing, utilities, electricity, Internet, television, cellular phone services, gasoline, city transportation, and medicine. They are much, much, much higher in the U.S. than in Russia. Accordingly, the price of food in the U.S. is much higher... Plus the progressive taxation is very disturbing out there!!! Add to this the very low level of education in U.S. schools, the crime rate in major cities, the terrible state of infrastructure... And you can draw your own conclusions...
