  2.  @compactreview  There’s a lot more, but here’s just a small portion from the US government on imports. Approximately 94 percent of U.S. merchandise imports by value are industrial (non-agricultural) goods. The United States currently has a trade-weighted average import tariff rate of 2.0 percent on industrial goods. One-half of all industrial goods imports enter the United States duty free. Germany on the other hand has many added taxes to their imports, the 19% VAT for example and they can also tax up to 319% for countries that do not have a EU trade agreement like the US. Who would be taxed this amount it isn’t clear.

  3.  @phelanwolf6747  Sorry wrong, it’s a value added tax on imports. Edit-hence the word’s ( VAT)value added tax. Trying to make this perfectly clear to you. I have no idea what their sales tax actually is, because I don’t really care. I’m not going to Germany. JS, no offense.
