On the other hand, the MiG-15 used... a centrifugal-flow jet. So the slow part of the Meteor is mainly due to the fact swept wings were becoming the standard.

@sandervanderkammen9230 - here's a question: what's the U.S. designation for the engine of the AV-8B Harrier II?

@sandervanderkammen9230 - yes, thank you. Though, I suggest not using bold for the entire comment and only use it to highlight. And theres one other thing: a lot of your comments suggest that, not to be rude, you're lacking context.

@sandervanderkammen9230 - not to be rude or anything, but something tells us you may have failed to account for other factors that follow. Take the 262 for example: yes it's faster than what the Allies have in store, but without the sufficient numbers and with Germany's factories getting bombed (ones that provide the engines and other materials), that advantage was already negated.

@sandervanderkammen9230 - the Phantom II got useful when they had a WWII ace helping out (Robin Olds). Plus, the Navy seemed to do a better job with flying them.

@WilhelmKarsten - "the Me-262 was a quantum leap in aviation technology... the Allies had absolutely nothing compared to it." Until the German factories started getting bombed by Allied aircraft. The plane's advantages were slowly eaten away.
1
@WilhelmKarsten - based on the Nene engine.
