  6. Lore-wise, however, mix in with the current real-world events and it becomes more relatably depressing (artificial inteligence, countries invading another and attempting to erase their culture and language, reliance on technology, which is friend or foe, among other things).

"but it's Hollywood and anime smashed togeter digitally" - here's the thing: from Ace Combat 3 onwards, most games have a varying flavor of philosophy added into the story reflecting on our world's history, current heading, and what's in store (whether's the WWI-like human aspect of combatants on both sides like Yellow 13 in AC04, the anti-war aspect of 5, the gray side of wars and its participants in Zero, and the digital aspects of war and everyday life in 7 and what happens when technology fails us). Even some Hollywood and anime works did that.
