Yeah TBF, it wasn't Subaru's idea to build a RWD car.

The apr LC 500h and the LaFerrari would like a word.

I suggest comparing the GR GT3 with the Mercedes-AMG GT.

@ACommenterOnYouTube - "adults" who haven't got some actual seat time on a race circuit?
3
@ACommenterOnYouTube - not to be rude or anything, I'm just saying that adding horsepower isn't exactly the way to go. Mazda still sells their MX-5 (which has less horsepower than the twins but less weight), and people continue to hold it in high regard for most of its driving qualities. You might also want to check out Britain's Caterham.

"the supra was the car to beat godzilla gtr" - except, it never was meant to compete against the GT-R.

If you think about it, Toyota filled a trademark for the name "GR GT" with the EU's intellectual property office last year. So it's a bit of a surprise what final name Toyota will be using for the finished product.

I wouldn't recommend dismissing the hybrid part if I were you.

@jpnphom5470 - not quite.
1
@Lost_and_Wondering - "and Subaru refused to let them turbocharge." - which isn't exactly the case here, almost as if Toyota wished to retain the natural aspiration for the twins.
1
@Lost_and_Wondering - honestly, is it? After all, Subaru initially didn't want to get involved with the twins even before the 1st-gen car came out. Toyota basically strongarmed them by buying shares of Fuji Heavy Industries (now Subaru Corporation).

@Anonymint-vj7bt - "If we do not push back, they are going take away our petrol cars." - something tells me you're leaving a few things out. Besides, you might want to look at how LMP1s utilized their hybrid components.
1
@Anonymint-vj7bt - "you need to understand the big picture" - already did.
1
If you want a turbo, there's the 2.0 GR Supra. Keep the twins naturally aspirated.

@samshaw1996 - no, closest so far are go-karts and two modified shitboxes (one Vitz and a compact sedan for a local one-make series by Toyota) while also receiving coaching. I barely got past 100 mph, but that's still fast from my experience. Going faster also involved using the driving line and maintaining momentum, the latter of which formed the philosophy of the 86/BRZ. The better upgrade would be a better driver who understands the car.

Not quite. Rarely do concepts cars go into production relative unchanged, and that doesn't include some subtle yet much-needed modifications for safety and homologation purposes. And that's the thing with concepts; they're just what the name implies.

@ACommenterOnYouTube - I'm just pointing out the problems of your comments, some of which can be explained by just driving and doing careful observations. 300hp may seem powerful, but there are other factors that could negate its advantages (weight and aerodynamics for example).
1
@ACommenterOnYouTube - "that IS your opinion" Not really, to be fair
1
@ACommenterOnYouTube - this is why weight comes into play: less weight means less power needed to move the cars and higher cornering speeds. This ain't exactly opinion.
1
@ACommenterOnYouTube - I'm just stating what needs to be said: 225hp is enough for the 86, enough that you are way less likely to get a ticket. Based on your previous comments, you need to try driving both the MX-5 and the twins AS THEY ARE INTENDED (not for straight lines, but corners). They are designed to teach people RWD driving with less risk.

The noise and how it performed at the Nordschleife say otherwise
1
@SeamusMcFitz-jz9if - dude, you're just making yourself look bad by calling it "200hp" and "ladyboy car" (and ironically, some "ladyboy cars" can actually kick you in the rear if you're too cocky). Besides, no one's denying Porsche's achievements there.
1
@SeamusMcFitz-jz9if - dude, be honest here. You know it ain't the case.
